Low-Voltage Contractor in Old Bridge, NJ

One licensed sub for all your low-voltage needs — cabling, AV, security, and smart home on a single schedule.

What We Do

Low-Voltage Contractor in Old Bridge, NJ

Old Bridge Township is a large suburban community with a significant stock of single-family homes built between the 1970s and 2000s — an excellent retrofit market for structured wiring and network upgrades.

Low-voltage work covers everything that doesn't require a licensed electrician but still needs an expert: structured data cabling, audio/video systems, security cameras, access control, smart home integration, and whole-home audio. For builders, architects, and homeowners in Old Bridge, working with a single qualified low-voltage sub simplifies the project dramatically — one schedule, one invoice, one point of contact for all of it.

Netinstall is a licensed NJ low-voltage contractor with over a decade of experience on residential and commercial projects throughout Old Bridge and Middlesex County. We work on everything from single-family custom homes to multi-unit residential developments, commercial office build-outs, and mixed-use projects. We're comfortable coordinating with general contractors, electricians, and other trades during active construction, and we understand how to hit the pre-wire window and return for trim-out without delaying your schedule.

Our services span the full scope of low-voltage work: structured cabling and distribution, home theater and distributed audio, security cameras and access control, smart home and automation systems, and whole-home Wi-Fi networks. If it runs on signal rather than power, we handle it. We're based in South Amboy and serve Old Bridge along with the broader Middlesex County area.

FAQ

Common Questions

What trades does low-voltage cover?
Low-voltage covers all signal-carrying systems that operate below 50 volts: data networking (Cat6), coaxial cable (TV/satellite), audio and video systems, security cameras, access control, intercoms, smart home control wiring, and speaker wire. It does not include 120V/240V electrical work, which requires a licensed electrician.
Do you pull permits?
For most residential low-voltage work in NJ, permits are not required. For projects that do require permits — certain commercial projects or jurisdictions with specific requirements — we handle the permit application and inspection coordination as part of the project.
Can you coordinate with the general contractor?
Absolutely — we do it on almost every new construction project. We communicate directly with the GC to schedule our pre-wire window after framing and before insulation, confirm rough-in inspection requirements, and schedule our return for trim-out after drywall and paint. We're used to working within a GC's schedule and keeping our work off the critical path.
What's the difference between pre-wire and trim-out phases?
Pre-wire (or rough-in) happens before drywall: we run all cables through open stud bays, pull them to the distribution point, and leave adequate service loops at each location. Trim-out happens after drywall and paint: we terminate the cables, install wall plates and jacks, install equipment, and commission the systems. Both phases are required for a complete installation.
Do you work on both new construction and existing homes?
Yes. New construction is easier and less expensive because everything is accessible before drywall. Retrofit (existing homes) requires fishing cable through finished walls, which takes more time and care. We minimize drywall impact through careful planning, and we patch any penetrations we make. We give you a clear estimate for either type of project.
